How to Channel Your Inner Julia Child

Cooking classes are very popular all over France. You can even take a lunch time express cooking class--where you can learn how to make a dish, such as "Wok de petit crevettes flamee au cognac, rice basmatti" (tiny shrimp cooked in a wok, then flameed with cognac and served with rice). I took this class in Toulouse with my good friends Beatrice, Carol and Laura and seven other French men and women. What fun! Our handsome chef taught us how to properly peel the shrimp, mince the cilantro, red onion and ginger and then we watched as he set a torch to the cognac and added it to the basmatti rice. So fragrant! A delicious lunch time dish that we enjoyed with wine and bread and a chocolate fondant for dessert and finally espresso. Salut!

  1. Yummy! My husband and I have wanted to do some classes as well, they seem so fun, I am going to have to check out! The best part is eating what you cook!
