A Tourist in My Home Town

I've returned to Cape Cod. Falmouth to be exact. The other day I took my car to Paul's Precision. It seems I had a little exhaust leak (oh my!) Paul is a great mechanic and he doesn't charge an arm and a leg. That's the nice thing about living in a small town. Word gets around, so everyone tries to be on their best behavior and do right by you. While my car (a 1994 Ford Aspire with 279,000 miles and going strong!) was being repaired, I went across the street to Betsy's Dinner. It's a 1950's inspired dinner and very fun. I had scrambled eggs, home fries, and toast. And of course, coffee. Lots of coffee. It was all very delicious in an American-sort-of-way.
Okay, it's not France, but it's my home.

  1. Love diners - hard to find them outside of small towns - makes you appreciate them even more.

  3. mmm...home sweet home, comfort food and a trusted mechanic, sounds like you are in the right place. Cannot wait to borrow your book from my friend Cheryl! She will be home soon from Auvillar. She lives in Vancouver and I live in Victoria...a ferry ride apart.
Enjoy your blog and look forward to more posts.

  5. Greetings Jamie!
Oh how exciting! I have just sent you an email. I know Cheryl is an amazing gal! I have missed both her and John while they were in France.
I am certain that she was a superb hostess. She has a flair in so many areas, from her style of dress to the way she sets a table or arranges a cheese plate. I hope that you have been inspired to write a new book. I will watch for new posts from Bonjour Happiness.
