Girls on the Town
Sometime
before midnight, Isabelle, Lucy and Trish had finally finished going over their photographs for tomorrow's class. And now, it was time for more important business: dancing and drinking the night away at Le Cave! The girls had chosen what to wear and were just out the door. For
Isabelle, it was her go-to little black dress with a cobalt blue scarf. For Lucy, all white. White jeans, white sweater, white
ballet slippers. So typical, Trish thought, adjusting her trademark oversized eyeglasses. So
virginal, and so out of season! But Trish didn't say a word. Instead, she followed her friends out of their Left Bank apartment and focused on holding onto the banister to steady herself on her very high
heels. Trish wore a sleeveless Betsey Johnson fuchsia ruffled dress.
It sparkled with sequins and included a crinoline slip. Oh, and she also wore her hot pink patent leather
high heels. Isabelle had
given Trish one of those disapproving are you sure you want to wear those? as they walked down the winding circular steps.
They were on the forth floor, which in
France was actually the fifth floor and it wasn’t easy negotiating the stairs
in her American heels, but what the hell.
You only live once, Trish thought. And
besides, by the end of the night, she would take them off and walk up the
stairs barefoot. Easy. And in the meantime, she was going to enjoy her night in Paris!
To be continued....
P.S. Here's your chance to contribute to the story. I want Trish to meet a cute guy at Le Cave. Any ideas who that should be? Merci beaucoup!

Jamie, absolutely loving this! So fun to read a blog-book! Have you invented something? Lol!
ReplyDeleteLinda--Thanks so much for your sweet comment. I'm not sure. I think perhaps I have invented something new. Do you know of any other blog books out there? I'd love to hear about them....and I know you'd know, because you are an EXPERT!!!! xo Jamie
ReplyDeleteI think Dickens wrote the original blog-books. OK, so they were newpaper serials but you get the idea.
ReplyDelete'Love the picture of the stairs.
Bonjour, Sheree--You're so insightful. I was thinking of Dickens when I began the blog-book. Oh, and the picture of the stairs comes from my friend's apartment in Paris. J'adore winding stairs! Thanks for commenting! xo Jamie
ReplyDeleteThat was awesome. How about when she enters the club she accidentally trips and finds herself in this really cute French guy's arms and their eyes lock and sparks fly....
ReplyDeleteOooh, I love that! Okay, look for Monday's blog to see your idea! Merci beaucoup!
ReplyDeleteJeez, any time! Merci beacoup to you too you're an awesome writer!
ReplyDeleteJamie, dear, this is so much fun!
ReplyDeleteI am having some unpleasant flashbacks to a night in Paris some 17 years ago...let's just say my high heels and the endless cobblestone streets did not make for a pleasant evening :)
Adore those stairs...and dress!
Now, for her romance....someone cerebral, wealthy, gorgeous...not a club-hopper....perhaps just showing his nephew the Parisian nightlife...
Kind of a twist on Sabrina....
I'm not good at this...ha!
Can't wait to read your next chapter...
xoxo,
- Irina
