This is the only photograph I could find of myself from my high school days. And this is probably because back then, I was extremely shy and believe it or not—I was a bit of a loner and not very social.
But no more! On Sunday May 17th at 3 p.m. in Connecticut (where I’m from) I will be inducted into the Norwalk High School Wall of Honor. (Details below).
After a special ceremony and dinner, along with lots of talk about the good old days, five alumni will receive a plaque with our photograph to be placed permanently on the Wall of Honor at our dear alma mater.
When I first heard of this award--honestly, it made me feel nervous. After all, I am not a successful entrepreneur. I am not a brilliant scientist. And I’m definitely not a famous movie star.
(Although, there’s still time for that, right?)
After all, I’m only 72!
Creative Friends--yes, high school might have been painful for some of you, and you might not have felt understood back then, but know this--it’s never too late—to be understood, to be loved. In fact, being recognized later in life--at a ripe old age—well, it’s very, very sweet, indeed.
And I am truly grateful.
Love,
Jamie
