En route to the far side of the moon, NASA’s Artemis II commander Reid Wieman presented us with this rare view of Mother Earth. Isn’t she beautiful? Yes, we’re all excited to get a look at the Man in the Moon--his nooks and crannies and mountains of green cheese. And as Dean Martin declared-- when the moon hits your eye, like a big pizza pie, that’s amore. The moon has always evokes feeling of love. Truly, it’s endlessly fascinating to us--so very far away, up there in the mysterious night sky. We sit on our porch, tethered to our home planet, looking up at the stars and we feel a deep longing for travel, for change. For something different. However, these recent photos of our home planet as viewed from the Artemis II gives us a fresh look at the beautiful blue orb that is Mother Earth. We are so very familiar with her, we often take her for granted—something like a lover that we have grown a tad too familiar with. This is why this voyage to the moon is so stunning--it’s not the view of the moon itself so much as the grand opportunity to view our own home with brand new eyes. Like a wayward son or daughter, we can finally appreciate all we have left behind—our precious Earth, our beautiful home. Creative Friends--be sure to look up into the sky tonight and wish our brave astronauts good luck on their voyage to see the man in the moon. But just as importantly, take the time today to appreciate our home planet, the one that we all share together—Mother Earth. Love, Jamie
