Life on the Island

Even though it's still warm, we're getting ready for the winter here on our little island.
First order of business:  stacking the firewood.
The late afternoons are cooler these days.  A nice respite from summer's intense heat and humidity.
The local wild turkeys have grown quite big and are a little less bold since Thanksgiving will be here before you know it.
Oh, and it's back to school shopping...even for grad school girls!  My daughter and I met up in New Haven to go shopping.  She's in grad school for graphic arts in Baltimore.  We tried on funny hats together.
I love my daughter!!!!
Now, I'm back home with my husband and enjoying the evenings by the bay.
It's important to keep one eye on the bay, because you never know what you might see.  Yes, this lady came by in her paddle boat with her two cute little pugs onboard.  Tres adorable!!!!
Here's wishing you a beautiful reentree (the French expression for the re-entry or the back to school spirit).  Enjoy the new season!!!!  And Happy New Year too!
